Hogan Holiday Hangouts

These boys love each other and I love these boys.

Snow

It snowed a ton this winter.  As I was on the easy schedule of our fourth year classes (AKA talk about your feelings, learn how to do quality improvement and relearn pharmacology), I got to go XC skiing alot.  Sliding along in the snow and sunshine in the middle of the day was AWESOME.  I don't think I will have this treat again for many winters to come, so I tried to savor it.

I also snowshoed to the hospital a bunch.  On one epic commute, I was the first one to walk in through 2+ feet of fresh powder.  I got mighty sweaty before school!

Turns out, tramping through snow is way better than trying to stay upright on a sheet of ice, which had been my standard commute for the past couple of winters.  I love snow!

Hallo Jermy Hodiday!

To Sam, everything small and flat is a phone.  Ipod, mouse, remote control, whatever.
He walks around the house holding his "phone" to his ear and shouting "Hallo Jermy Hodiday!"

Unies!

Without the tiniest struggle, Sam figured out how to use the potty this winter.  Ethan loves that Sam goes on the potty (maybe it makes him more like a recognizable kid, less like a baby?) and has been super helpful reading books and cheering Sam on.  It's precious.

And just like that, Sam is in undies.  Or, as he calls them, UNIES!!  So. Darn. Cute.

Sam's Second Birthday

On Saturday, we had a little birthday party (super chill playdate with cake) to celebrate the Wee Lamb's 2nd Birthday.  He was really shy about the singing and candles but has since been obsessed with finding and blowing out any candles he can spot in a book (Birthday Monsters provides many opportunities) and walks around singing "Hoppy Birfday To You" in the most unmelodic but adorable way.

On the REAL birthday, we stole Donovan away for celebratory frozen yogurt, followed by playing at the Dartmouth College arts building/giant outdoor spider sculpture, and a trip to the Howe library.  When Sam wasn't dumping self serve toppings on the floor, he was LOVING his froyo.

Auntie Cynthia Comes to Visit

Great Auntie Cynthia came up to New Hampshire for a little visit
with the Epstein Holiday clan on Match Day.

Sam greatly enjoyed the books, stuffed animals and illicit climbing on tables, cheered on
by his adoring crowd of grandmother, grandaunt and mama, at the Concord Public Library.

And Cynthia enjoyed a brief chat with shy Ethan and always in motion Sam after Match Day.
